We perform colony picking and plasmid prepping for internal and external users, using a standard alkaline lysis & precipitation protocol. We charge $0.50/colony internal ($0.40 Cancer Center), and $0.65/colony external. If sequencing is requested, those reactions are done at the high throughput price ($1.70 internal, $1.40 Cancer Center, and $2.55 external per reaction). We provide an Excel spreadsheet for the information (please right-click in Windows and option click on Macs this link, then open the downloaded file), which should be e-mailed back to us at DNACore@DNAServer.bsd.uchicago.edu. Please rename the returned spreadsheet file with your last name and the date. If at all possible, samples should be given in multiples of 8 (or 12), which fits in best with 96-well plate formats.
